A transformational weekend in Atlanta, built to inspire the next generation of leaders and creators.
A month ago, Urban Art Gallery (with the help of the Nehemiah Davis Foundation) took a powerful journey to Atlanta — often called the Black Mecca — a city known for its culture, creativity, and success stories born from hustle and heart. There was no better backdrop for a weekend meant to spark vision, confidence, and ambition in a group of young men stepping into a new chapter of their lives.
For some of these young men, it was their very first time getting on a plane. For others, it was the first time being away from their parents. But whether they came from Philly or out of state, this trip represented a major first step — not just toward a new city, but toward a new way of seeing themselves and what’s possible.
From Gallery Steps to Streets of Gold
The weekend began early — 4AM at Urban Art Gallery. We gathered quietly in the early morning hours, some having traveled over an hour just to be there. By 6AM, we were at the airport and headed to Atlanta. Expectations were low — most of the young men had no idea what was coming — but that only made what came next even more powerful.
After landing, things shifted quickly. Outside the terminal, lined up like a scene from a movie, were Lamborghinis, BMWs, Audis — and even a police escort. Phones were out. Eyes were wide. This was a lifestyle none of us were used to, and it set the tone for the weekend ahead. As we rode through the streets, people filmed us, a drone flew above, and a cameraman hung from the back of an SUV. We stopped by a strip mall and were treated like celebrities. It was surreal — and for many, unforgettable.
Day 1: Dreams Meet Discipline
We arrived at the mansion and kicked things off with a car show, meet-and-greet, affirmations, and a meal together. The message was clear: anything you see this weekend is obtainable — not with luck, but with commitment, passion, and hard work. Everyone there had earned their success by staying consistent and putting their families and goals first.
That afternoon, we toured the Milano Di Rouge factory and were welcomed by Milan’s amazing team. The young men learned how the business operates behind the scenes and were gifted free sweatsuits in the color of their choice — a generous gesture and a taste of what it means to be seen and celebrated.
Later, we stopped at Rich Men Looks where the young men were professionally measured for suits that they'll receive in the future. While being fitted, they had the opportunity to hear genuine mentorship from business owners like Frantz and MeetTheEmperor, who shared personal insights about their journey and how they turned obstacles into opportunities.
After a short rest, we wrapped the night with games, go-karting, and laser tag at Andretti’s, followed by a mansion dinner — lobster tails and all — and some relaxing pool time before another packed day.
Day 2: Give Back, Level Up
We started the day by preparing care packages for the homeless. The young men made sandwiches, packed snacks, and wrote heartfelt notes like “God Bless You :)” on each bag — a small gesture that meant a lot.
Then we headed to Change Church in DeKalb for their very first service in the new location. The music, message, and atmosphere were electric. The pastor’s words were sharp and motivating, and the choir and band made sure nobody left uninspired.
After that, we introduced the group to Korean BBQ — a first for many — helping broaden their horizons through food and culture. Then we visited the MLK Memorial and house, where we slowed down and reflected on Black history and the sacrifice it took to open doors for us today.
Later that evening, we went downtown to distribute the care packages. We set up in a central area and handed out every bag we packed. The young men also spent time rapping and connecting with people on the street, showing love and presence in real time.
Next stop: the Black Boy Art Show — a showcase of raw, powerful, and inventive artwork. The building was packed shoulder-to-shoulder, with a line stretching down the block by the time we left. One standout moment: an artist painting with his boxing gloves on a heavy bag. It was wild. It was brilliant.
Producer > Consumer: Real Talk with Neo
Back at the mansion, Nehemiah and his circle of successful friends hosted a powerful conversation over a 5-course meal. Shoutout to Chef Stryker, who killed every single meal that weekend — this dinner was no exception. From the soup to the dessert, everything was a 10/10.
Throughout the discussion, Neo drilled in a key message:"You have to be a producer, not just a consumer."Instead of just watching YouTube, learn how to create for YouTube. Don’t just play Fortnite — design the levels. The same applies to fashion, business, and everything else. Build something. Own something. Lead.
The room was full of high-achieving, high-character individuals — people willing to pour into the next generation. The young men asked great questions and got real answers.
Day 3: Planting Seeds for the Future
The final morning started light — breakfast, bags packed, and a final speech from Neo. He left them with powerful words and a challenge to carry this momentum forward.
He also shared that 8 weeks of follow-up mentorship classes would begin every Monday — giving this experience a long tail of growth, accountability, and support.
Aftermath: Bonds That Last
Since returning, the young men have made plans to stay connected and build together. They created a group chat to support one another, fellowship, and share ideas. Some have even started exploring business opportunities. Others are simply walking taller, speaking with more confidence, and thinking bigger than before.
This wasn’t just a trip — it was a transformation.
